Cats parody on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Love it or hate it, Cats gets a great send up in the second to last episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Musical orchestration fans will want to listen until the end of the credits as the show's music department does an inspired take on Cats' 80's sound. (sorry in advance if I didn't punctuate "Cats' 80's" correctly, I'm to old to care anyone)

The last episode also has a Broadway connection.

Sorry to see the show ending, but the final episodes are wonderful.

Their version is almost exactly what Cats sounds like to my ears. haha

Was amazed to find myself tearing up at the end of the final episode. PERFECT way to end it. (though I'd rather it keep going!)

One of the recent episodes of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend just dedicated a whole episode to Cats, a musical the lead character hates. She starts imagining cats who sing songs that describe who they are and their affect on her. She even gets a few digs like how the show has a song describing what a Jellicle cat is but it sounds like any other cat.

I haven't watched the episode yet, so I'm not sure how much they showed, but I happened to walk past the theatre (the Majestic) when they were filming, and took some pics of the fake Cats marquee & branding they had put up outside. They got so creative with the detail on these... I laughed out loud at the quote from "Bill Brantley."
