This is awesome! I remember going to city center to see them perform and then attended the theater talkback afterwards and all of actors were really excited for the opportunity to do this especially since they normally can't commit to 6 months or so due to TV contracts and other stuff on their schedule.

In a way, I wish NY city center would have Songs for a New World every year for a week but feature different cast each time so those actors who cannot commit to 3-6 months (or a full year) on Broadway can at least still perform live theater, even if it's only for a week.

The new recording is incredible. I admit, it's strange to hear new voices tackle these songs after listening to the original recording for so many years.

Agreed. I was surprised that (after LOVING the live performance from this cast) I'm finding myself not that into this recording. It may just take some getting used to....

Just made me want to turn it off and listen to the original cast album instead.
