What'd ya'll think of the performance of Dead Mom from Beetlejuice at BroadwayCon? It's on YouTube if you haven't seen it.

What did YOU think? You obviously have strong feelings one way or another about the production- its only polite that you share as well.

As for myself, I havent seen the BroadwayCon version yet, but based on the out of town tryout, Dead Mom is paradoxically one of the better songs and one of the less interesting ones. To me, the rambling, weirder but less concise and professional songs, like the opening number, were vastly more enjoyable than Lydias material, which was well done and BMI solid, but less adventurous and more predictable in a way that didnt quite mesh with the more oddball material for other characters.

It sounded like the next overdone but successful audition song that todays middle schoolers will be obsessed with in high school. Successful, an ear worm, but engineered to appeal to teen and tween fans, which seems counter to a show with a number of STD jokes and a dead pig penis.
