First time in eight years either branch for the Dems. The amount of women is a real plus as the party amps up for 2020. I'm looking forward to seeing Pelosi after 8 years in the minority. I used to feel she was an encumbrance as Minority Leader. But her grit and demeanor feels like what the Dems need.
In recent days, I have come to admire and respect Senator Schumer and especially Speaker Pelosi more than ever before. Anxiously awaiting their response to the "Thug-in-Chief's" Address to the Nation (or however it is being billed) tonight. My pride in being a Democrat has never diminished; but our new Congress has me standing a bit taller.
