Need advice on seating for Cher Kong and Network |
Closer doesnt really matter for this one. Theres no facial expressions to see anyway. Kong is the only one with any and you can see him from anywhere. I was 10 rows back 1st seat all the way to the left and saw everything great.
Cher if you are on extreme sides closer front half the set is cut off. You dont really miss any of the performances. I would say this one would be a little better to go close so you can see faces.
Network havent seen so i got nothing.
Frozen is a very pretty show. Beautifully done and great performances. Ive seen it with kids and alone. Ive sat 3rd row center orchestra and front mezzanine. This as much as i like to be close was actually better in the mezz. There are some effects you cant see from orchestra and they made a difference. Stay before the break in the mezz. Or if u have the extra spot..the prom is also very fun. Smaller show than frozen but a darn good time.
I have not seen Frozen yet but I've seen many other Disney On Broadway shows. I think Disney makes a great effort at making sure the shows are targeted to adults, sometimes even more so than kids. I'm seeing Frozen with another adult in February.

I would try for center for Network if you can get it. (It’s selling very well.) The stage has three distinct playing areas, so if you were too far to a side, I would think you wouldnt have a great view for certain sequences. Plus theres a giant video screen so I dont know if that would be a little distorted with an angled view. The show itself is meh, but Cranston is magnificent.

I am always a little confused about these questions regarding seating. Ask yourself, do you prefer the orchestra, or the mezzanine / balcony? Once that is decided, simply purchase the seat(s) closest and most center based on availability and your budget. For most shows, I'd avoid the first 3 rows of the orchestra.
Now, having typed the above, if there is some unique seating configuration, I absolutely understand asking this question.
For Network - Would very back row of Mezzanine be good? Seems to be one of the only seats available on stubhub, and the pricing isnt completely awful. Considering pulling trigger for my trip in a few weeks
The best seat for King Kong is outside the theatre holding the money you would have spent on this show. It's a waste of your time and money, worst thing I've ever seen in 20 years of theatre going, honestly don't bother. If you really need to see that monkey then go for the cheapest seat you can wherever that may be, you can see him from everywhere in the house.
I saw Network in London so can't help with broadway seating advice, but it's an excellent show, you'll enjoy yourself.
Couldn't have said it better re: King Kong; don't waste your money. There are so many other shows worth seeing. Don't waste your time or money.
Re: Network, there are monitors everywhere in the theatre. Center orchestra is ideal, but you'll be fine with rear mezzanine if that's what's available.
The point of King Kong is the spectacle, and that's way way better from up close. I disagree that it's a waste of money to see it at all, as long as you have the right expectations. As a quality musical... eh. As a Vegas-like extravaganza, it's really entertaining.
But it's the scale of Kong that makes it effective. If you're looking down at a small gorilla puppet from the back of the balcony, you're going to have a very different visceral experience than if you're sitting in the front row of the orchestra with him towering and roaring above you. The latter is way preferable.
"Cher Kong and Network" sounds like the name of a rejected David Mamet play.
Aww... Now I want to see Cher Kong! It's The Cher Show, but with four Chers - they add a HUGE puppet Cher operated by several people, all visible. The new Dark Lady sequence actually would feature Cher Kong and make more sense. That's really the only change they needed to make post-Chicago.
