Who's watching? I've already watched in full.... looks and sounds absolutely fantastic! As has been said in the performance thread, this is certainly not just a concert!
I also thought this was a fantastic recording. The cinematography and audio were excellent.
I do hope Netflix pursues other projects like this - not just concerts, but Broadway shows. For example, I have no intention of going to see “Head Over Heels”, but I would absolutely check it out if it went on Netflix the same day it shutters on Broadway.
A transcendent experience that I could not afford on Broadway has now been captured brilliantly for the ages. Fan or not, don't deny yourself a viewing. And bring tissues. An altogether different concert perspective of the man believers call The Boss.
I’m really glad he made a deal with Netflix rather than simply releasing a no doubt expensive DVD set. I plan to watch next week once I have some time off.
I would love Streisand to do an intimidate show like this. She’s a great raconteur and with her now limited voice, this would be a fantastic evening. Maybe just 5 performances a week and no 2 show days (matinee show with no evening 2nd show), could be appetizing to her. Yes, it would be an impossible ticket to get, but follow the route Springsteen did plus she’s associated with Netflix (her last tour was filmed for Netflix), so the filmed documentation will be for historical archiving.
I watched some of it with my dad (who's a huge Springsteen fan) last night and we both loved it. Very glad this was filmed so gorgeously for people to enjoy.
Neglected to mention that the camerawork for the staged production was very subtle (very minimal audience reaction shots) and the lighting design was simple but gorgeous. Really felt like viewers had the best seats in the house.
I was lucky to have seen it live two weeks ago. One of the original songs on the set list, "Brilliant Disguise" was not included. It's a song I really like to I was wondering if it's on the recording.
Patti was sick the night I saw it (we got a rare encore in return) and I'm wondering if that was the reason.
