Almost every season Chicago gets at least one or two pre broadway tryouts. None have been announced for 2019. Have they just not announced them yet or are there indeed no tryouts happening this coming year?

Though not officially billed as one, Chicago Shakespeare is hosting the world premiere of Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks in June. I’d say that at least half counts, as it may have potential to transfer.

We had three this year! They came to town in order from worst to best, in my opinion. lol

Pretty Woman, The Cher Show and Tootsie.

But also, I think BiC is really pushing the new dinner show Teatro Zinzanni Presents Love, Chaos & Dinner for next year. I'm hoping they put it on the season package.

Have commercial pre-Broadway tryouts been announced in any city for 2019? I can't think of any off the top of my head. So many producers are moving away from commercial tryouts nowadays (in favor of non-profit "enhancement" deals at places like Paper Mill/Williamstown/A.R.T./5th Ave).

This was a fun evening in Seattle.  I mean it's not Cirque du Soleil but if it was coming to your city, you should go.  It's more fun with a group.

Though Broadway in Chicago isn't hosting this, Paramount Theater in the Aurora suburb is premiering August Rush, which may have its sights on Broadway.
