I'm on eastern Long Island. It's almost 10 pm and our mail hasn't been delivered yet. Is this the same in other places?

Maybe you just didn't get any mail today? I have some days where that happens.

It's the whole neighborhood.

Besides, I had the little red flag up on the mailbox and several letters in it.The mail truck should have stopped to.pick up the mail one way or the other.

We've been getting out mail after 6 pm lately but today is insane.

I live in Harlem and never expect my mail before 7. The postal system in New York is a JOKE. They are lazy, rude, and absolutely insufferable. They’re also liars!

This is the busiest time of year for the postal service. A lot of them are also using their vacation before it expires on 12/31. So, a lot of floaters (seasonal employees and trainees) are handling the mail. So there's a significant delay. 

My dad and brother are mail carriers, and they're thoroughly exhausted.

Here in CT (Fairfield County) the mail didn't arrive till 7:30PM last night and still nothing yet for today. I think being Christmas and the mail carrier has to get out of the truck for many deliveries of target packages. Then again very seldom anything of interest in the mail these days. Last night the only piece of mail was the flyer for Tootsie.

I got TWO deliveries today. The first one--which I guess was yesterday's batch-- included a Christmas card from Carol Channing.

The USPS has a ton of problems. I ordered something from a company in California (NO not sex toys u pervs) and this is the trip it has been on:

That's insane, sabrelady.

No insane mail delivery time here for me. Though, I don't live in NY. The problems here are with FedEx and UPS. Both have now delivered packages to my neighbor's house.

I also remember one year a UPS driver was in their driveway delivering something and saw me coming down my driveway, so he flagged me to give me a package that was going to my house. At least I got that one.

Okay, I'm using fake names here for privacy's sake but the situation is real:

I live on Ambrose Road. There is also an Ambrose AVENUE on the other side of town and a woman who lives there has a last name very similar to mine. Also, across the bay, in Davis Park, there's another Ambrose Road. We all share the same ZIP code!

I had ordered 2 items from qvc, which shipped out on the same day. (2 of yhe same exact item).

I recd one package on a weds, just 4 days after ordering it. I figured they got separated and would receive the other one the following day. Didnt happen. Nor rhe next day. Shen a yhird business day went by, I started looking at tracking.

The package had been felivered to a post office 30 minutes away ( a normal pattern) the same day the first one was. And then it went mia for four days, and showed up IN AS DIFFERENT STATE!

It has since been delivered.

...and QVC is usually very dependablle!

USPS typically delivers my mail around 9:30 pm. It's gotten progressively worse over the decade that I've lived in my current home. When I moved in, mail would arrive at a reasonable time - usually early afternoon. As the years went on, it started arriving mid-afternoon, then late afternoon, then early evening, then around dinner time, and now, I'm sometimes already in bed by the time it arrives.

In the past week, USPS has missed two guaranteed delivery dates for me.

We had a huge problem in the Columbus Circle area where someone was fishing mail out of the post office boxes and getting bank accounts and credit card information. They changed all of the boxes so that there is just a thin slit to slide your mail in. Funny that was not done years ago.

Okay, yesterday's mail arrived at 4:30 pm--a reasonable hour. However the delivery included cards for someone in Riverhead (20 minutes East of here) and one for someone in Astoria (an hour west). Twenty minutes ago someone from down the road knocked on my door with a card addressed to me but delivered to him by mistake. It was from Jerry Herman.
