Another poster (about 1/3 of the way down?) said there is/was a fire in the basement area of the theater.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I wonder how extensive the damage was. Bolton tweet says the lower lobby was the location of the fire. It's been a bit since I was in the theatre but if I recall like most older theatres, the lower lobby is where the majority of their restrooms are located. Do they have upper restrooms as well if the lower lobby is too damaged to reopen right away?
I believe the Broadhurst only has Lower Level main restrooms, there is a single stall restroom on the Orchestra level under the far staircase.
The Broadhurst lower lounge has a large main bar, the bar manager's office and ice closet under the staircases, and the main restrooms on opposite sides. There is also the pass door to the Schoenfeld tunnel through the Men's room.
There is usually a Merchandise stand down there, and there has been an Infrared Listening Device rental location there as well, but I haven't seen Anastasia, so I don't know what the current set up is...
they didn't have a show tonight, but I guess we'll see if they go on tomorrow evening.
