Hanging Wind Chimes Outside

Here is a question for you creative people on here.  I just went on a cruise and bought a couple of interesting wind chimes.  I want to hang them on my outside lanai (concrete walls) and not nail or drill into the concrete.  I live in the South (Northern Florida) where it can get cold as well as obviously hot.  I don't think the chimes weigh alot.  The hook attached to the chime is quite small and not very wide.  What can I use to hang them, so they won't come crashing down?  I am looking into the 3M products.  Some say only use on windows.  Others not for outside.  Some the hook is too wide and thick for the wind chime hook.  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Have you considered your neighbours? I have about 10 of them hanging around my patio and in my tree---I call it the Faraway Tree, but the noise in a strong wind is deafening I have to take a couple of the big ones down.

I live in a sub tropical climate so have created a mini Bali garden--almost need a machete to come in the back gate.

Your problem for concrete without drilling; any way to suspend a long thin piece of bamboo? to hook it over, or from a ceiling light fitting...and blutack won't work. As long as they tinkle and don't chime you will love the serenity they create. Hardware shops have the answer for most things.

Thanks for your response, Sweet Lips.  I was beginning to think that either no one owns wind chimes or they just didn't want to answer.  I only have two.  I actually bought a product from 3M that is an outside adhesive hook.  I hung them this morning and so far they have stuck.  I haven't heard them chime, though.  But I do like the appearance they give to my lanai.

I would go to your local hardware store and bring pictures of the wall. Someone there should have good suggestions.

Thanks for the response, Dollypop.  Sadly, I found one of the chimes on the ground this morning...broken.  The guaranteed product I bought from 3M, didn't hold.  The only guarantee I received from the company this morning was a replacement of the product, which I declined.  (I will take it back to Lowe's for a refund).  The broken chimes, they told me wasn't their responsibility.  To think, I was so careful with them during my cruise not to break them.

So your chimes must have been glass-such a pity as they would have made such an angelic sound.

I have 2 beautiful hand blown [no jokes] mobiles from New Zealand and am able to hang them from hooks and have withstood very heavy winds.

Keep the broken pieces and be creative and turn it into a completely different art form--maybe stick the pieces on to a pot plant holder, make a mosaic.

Shared tears for your loss as you obviously treasured this memory from your cruise.

Hi SweetLips.  They were made from bamboo and one of the pieces broke off.  Thankfully, it was not the one I liked the most.  My next door neighbors are from Colombia  and she is really into wind chimes.  Her husband told me she was getting me a set from Colombia.  Since I have been to Colombia within the last couple of years, it will be a treat if she follows through.

John, Thanks for your response.  I have limited space, due to plants, so I think the best route is to hang.  I'm just going to have to drill into the concrete.
