Using BWW to sell things

We've all posted here when we've had an extra ticket to spare and that's understandable, but lately posters like bstoll and hellodanny are using BWW to sell things. I'm not very happy about this. How do others feel?

Thankful that ATC has a Shoppin' board that's exclusively for those. I myself have had to post for last-minute ticket offers, I'm guilty. But these incessant posts about regular business and sales have been a bit too much.

Can BWW have a sales board, too?

Unless such practices are prohibited, I don't see that it is any of your business.

If only there were a way to avoid reading such posts.  Wait --- there is!!

Now go back to yelling at those damn neighbor kids to get off your lawn!

I see that WayTooBroadway is the only one that answered using manners, the others were just plain rude. There is a way to express your input with being condescending, tactless, and just plain crass.

It would be nice if there was a separate sales board. It might encourage others with treasure troves of goodies to pass them down to others who would appreciate adding to their collections, while lining the pockets of the owners.

I usually read them as a laugh since people often overinflate the value of their treasures. And I obviously was guilty when I posted about my eBay sale recently, but I was selling 150 items in one clip with auctions that all started at a penny (but thankfully didn't end there, for the most part). There are so many threads I have zero interest in, seems like most of them just fall into that pile...

I was not aware that some posters had issues with this practice. I had just told my daughter that when i die I want her to post all my framed playbills and signed window cards and playbills on this site so they'd have a good home. lol I told her to give them away though And hopefully I am a long way from leaving but I just wanted her to know where to find people who would appreciate my collection.

I'm not interested in memorabilia so I just skip past those posts.  Usually with the addition of an unseen eye roll - but it's really not an annoyance to me, nor do I care about "banning" it.  I'm sure there are others that find it quite useful - and I admit, I was lucky enough to get something FROM haterobics.

A separate sales page IS a great idea though!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Im guilty of posting sales here before, usually when I need to pay a bill or need a little spare cash and have to liquidate.

Though some find it irksome, through here, I was able to make a little extra money to cover myself during lean times, and people are happy when they can find something they thought they missed out on.

What irritates more is the opportunistic posts where people tried to sell Carol Channing memorabilia before her body was even cold.

Check out my eBay page for sales on Playbills!! www.ebay.com/usr/missvirginiahamm

Unfortunately, that is the world we live in.  When a singer passes away, that same day, FYE (nationwide music store) puts up a display of that artist's music.  If inventory is low, they receive more from the warehouse.  People who have not bought Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston or David Bowie music in years, are now buying up every piece they can get their hands on.  I can see why FYE does it (sales), but to me it is ridiculous that these "fans" suddenly have a renewed interest, other than to resell it.

I love that all the posts calling Dollypop have been erased. God. The post hellodanny made about making 800 bucks on ebay was amazing, and my post telling Dollypop that I will send the bad kids to your house for raisins on Halloween should stay.  Ridiculous!
