Movie musicals or movies based of plays that deserve a Criterion releases?

For those unaware, The Criterion Collection is a company that releases and remasters "important classic and contemporary films" and selling them to film aficionados in the highest quality.

While Criterion tends to do more obscure arthouse movies or obscure classics like"Eraserhead, make way for tomorrow,Toyko story" They have done more popular and un artsy movies like"Princess Bride,Robocop and It's a mad mad mad world" so anything is possible.

Musical wise I could see Cabaret(honestly I'm shocked they haven't done that one yet),Hair,The Young Girls of Rochefort,or Top Hat

Play wise I really want a release of either The Odd Couple or Plaza suite.

What would you say?

I’m desperate for them to add Hedwig and the Angry Inch to the collection.

I’d also love to see Paris is Burning, Shortbus, and The Triplets of Belleville.

^ It hasn't been confirmed yet, but I do believe it's been strongly hinted that "Hedwig" will be entering the collection. I can't find the link at the moment, but I think JCM might have mentioned it on Instagram? 

There's also been long-standing speculation of a "Complete Show Boat" set with the 1929, 1936, and 1951 versions. That'd be pretty fantastic. 

I went on a movie musical binge a few years ago - I'm sure there are plenty of other good ones that haven't been given a proper home video release. I'll add them to this post if I remember them.

Criterion really needs to release The Importance of Being Earnest (1952) on Blu-Ray already! And though it wasn't a play (though it could easily be adapted for the stage), I would love to see a Criterion release of Mindwalk (1990).

They released The Young Girls of Rochefort on Blu-ray in their Essential Jacques Demy Collection along with The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and other titles. I bought the boxset in 2014, and I just looked it up-- but they finally released Rochefort and Cherbourg as stand-alone titles in 2017. Hurry before the Barnes and Noble sale ends!

I want Robert Wise and Julie Andrews' Star! to be treated like the movie musical master work it is. But hey-- if I can't get a Criterion, at least a Twilight Time? I'm worried time is running out-- I don't know how those licensing deals will work once Disney's deal with Fox is completely finalized.
