John Cameron Mitchell ORIGIN OF LOVE Tour

Not sure how I missed this, but John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask are bringing The Origin of Love: The Songs and Stories of Hedwig to NYC next June, for 2 dates on Pride weekend at The Town Hall. Saturday, June 29, 2019, is sold out, but there are plenty of seats still available for Friday, June 28. I think it sounds like an amazing night.

John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask, the Tony Award winning co-creators of Hedwig & the Angry Inch plus special guests present an exclusive 50th Pride Celebration, performing songs from their groundbreaking rock musical and regaling audiences with stories from 25 years of Hedwig. I went to the first night last night in DC and I thought it was VERY FUN.  JCM was hilarious during the stories he was telling (a lot of it was making fun of DC which is pretty easy to do tbh)  He did Hedwig songs and some other songs from his upcoming project.

FYI there's a merch table! Shirts, keychains, coasters, signed posters.  There were people waiting for him at the stage door but I didn't wait to see if/when he came out.

Thanks for the review! Is the merch specific to Hedwig or his tour?

Great to hear the DC part of the tour was a lot of fun! I was able to get a ticket in June and cannot wait!!!!! Hedwig is one of my favorite musicals (went to the in-person lottery a few times each week after work back in 2014 and was able to see NPH, Rannells, Hall, JCM (before accident and after accident), Criss, and Diggs!

How long was the show? Do you think it would be ok taking someone not familiar with Hedwig or is Hedwig knowledge a necessity?

$48 = $64 including fees. So annoying.
