For those of you who love innovative theatre and all the magic it brings, let me do you a giant favor.   The Jungle is now closing in the West End and moving off broadway to St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn Dec 4th.

It is a transformative theatre experience - a straight play that is immersive and compelling.  The Jungle is the story of the last days of the refugee camp in Calais, France before it was bulldozed by French authorities.

In London, they gutted the orchestra level of the playhouse theatre and recreated the camp's Afghan Cafe section, with uneven tables and benches and plywood walls. The atmosphere is unbelievably realistic.

The performances are amazing and the story, while important, is achingly human and compelling.  I brought a group of students from my international school in Africa to the show, for some of them it was their first theatre experience, and they were speechless afterwards.

The Jungle.  Don't miss it.

Agree 100%. One of the best things London has had in years. It was sensational, riveting, horrifying. Just amazing. And you forget very quickly that you're watching a play. If the staging is the same, pay to sit in the 'orchestra' - in the cafe. (It is VERY interactive though so be warned. I had a dirty dish towel tossed to me and the man next to me was given an entire meal The Jungle - Let me do you a favor The actors also leaned on us the whole time and would physically move us us a little if they had to get on our table.)

Wow! I heard about this play by watching The Break A Leggers on Youtube. I had no idea it was coming over to New York. I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks for the tip!
