I know all of us on this board are really big fans of Broadway and Musical Theatre. So I began thinking have any of us acted before? What shows have you been in before? Or what show would you like to be in, and what role!?

To date. I’ve only acted one time. I played Usnavi in “In The Heights” earlier this year at my college! Can’t wait to do more.

I started performing at age 8. I stopped when I started directing. Both lists encompass over 20 years... those lists would be obnoxiously long.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Did a local production of Hairspray and it was honestly the most fun I've had in theatre. Cast was just great and ending in You Can't Stop The Beat every night was a blast and gave me something to look forward to. Played Link!

When I was a kid, our neighbor was a professor of theater and scenic designer for the university in town. I was in some of the productions he worked on. My most memorable roles were Robin the page in Falstaff and Local Boy #4 in The Music Man.

Acted for nearly 25; been directing for over 25.   I've had a lot of great times, and my share of war stories as well.   I hope that the contributions that I've made are far more positive than otherwise for those involved.  I hope.

I started acting in 1963. I've done SUMMER stock, regional theater, dinner theater, diner theater (my dressing table was beside the steam table in the kitchen!) and community theater.

Favorite roles: Harry Roat in WAIT UNTIL DARK; Uncle Jimmy in NO, NO NANETTE; Major General in PIRATES OF PENZANCE; Sir Evelyn in ANYTHING GOES; Lazer Wolff in FIDDLER

Least favorite role: Hamlet. I was too young and the director was a jerk.

Directed abot 50 plays and musicals.

Lots and LOTS of review shows which are popular with community theatre locally as well as a lot of Children's Theatre when I was in school as my University had lots of ties with early childhood development and education locally. We would plan most of the year with the education majors on our end of the year children's show and have a whole education packet tie in sent out to the schools that would be attending including lesson plans on whatever message the show was teaching that year, activities, craft projects, and an original song written usually be a senior music major that the kids learned and would be able to then come to the show and sing along with the performance.

But a few actual shows over the years... Footloose (Rusty), Wonderful Town (Ruth), Zombie Prom (Strict), and the little known 80s flop... Quilters (Daughter Margaret/Various). Original production only ran for 24 shows but it's a very charming and intimate piece for an all female cast. I have not been in a show in over 10 years however. I moved away and had no time for it and when I moved back home, the three theatres I had always worked with had closed up shop. Not the nearest community theatres that don't just pre-cast with there stock regulars is 45 minutes away so it's just being a fan for me now.
