Why hasn’t Riza Takahashi gone on as Janis??

So Mean Girls makes it a point for everyone to go on at some point. But hasn’t Riza made for Janis debut yet? Barrett’s been out multiple times and they always put on Tee or Gianna. Some people are thinking it’s her race but there’s so many PoCs covering the other roles that have been on multiple times. Some are also thinking she just doesn’t want to go on yet... Does anybody know why exactly she hasn’t been on yet?

Its not some big conspiracy, Riza is the fourth cover, she only goes on if all the other covers cant do it. If tee, Gianna, and Barrett, and the other actress covering her call out then Riza goes on. Has nothing to do with her race, or her not wanting too.

Bwayfan has it right! I asked Riza and she said the time just hasn't come yet but they are definitely trying to find a window for her to go on - the producers are really trying to rotate all their swings and understudies.

Yes producers love it even the main, billed, scheduled cast members go off. Of course they specially find a time for them to go on...

That’s not what they mean. IF the schedule performers call out, that’s when they rotate. It’s not like they ask the main cast members to take days off to give the understudies a chance.

I feel like my question fits well in this thread,
Why are there so many covers? im confused by the whole standby thing, cause wouldnt Tee always go on first since she is a standby?

Tee has kind of explained this and basically said that it's a numbers game. Tee, as the standby, should probably be the first to go on, but they also have to make sure that they have their other tracks covered if something happens mid show. Mean Girls is really good about giving everyone a chance to go on in their covered/understudy roles, but since Tee covers 4 tracks they sometimes put someone else out to make sure that the rest of the principals are covered.
