Ugh. If thats the best song they can put foward, Im not impressed. That is such a boring song and such a safe song. Safe meaning, its nothing new we have heard it a thousand times before.
Im sticking by my first guess, this is going to be tuck everlasting all over again, we should have a closing notice by December.

basically. that song was just ?fearless’ but without any of the charm. my biggest grip with mean girls and now with the prom, is how boring the lyrics are. don’t write just to write but have some punch behind it. have a motif or a theme or something that makes me not want to turn it off.
I completely agree. It seems to me that over the past few year lyricists have gotten sort of lazy. I listen to cast recordings now and roll my eyes at so many of the lyrics now (Mean Girls, Spongebob, new songs in Frozen). It seems like the music is fine, but lyrics are really lacking. I think Joe Iconis has super witty lyrics which makes me excited for Be More Chill's Broadway run.
