Let me preface this by saying that I saw Betsy and thought that she was fantastic in the role. However, does anyone know why Betsy was cast? I mean, the show has be gunning for stars for Jenna since after Jessie left so why do we think they cast a Broadway alum in the role instead of a star? Were their sales good enough that they felt a security in not having a star? I guess you could say the same thing about Nicolette but her run began as limited as opposed to Betsy's which was an eight month contract I believe

Betsy started her run in the summer when sales tend to be helped by tourism and you don’t really need a star.
And I remember this musical I remember their brilliance And I might never sleep again...

Not to mention that Sara did her first run right before her - so they were doing well enough financially to take the risk of a traditional Broadway performer. I want to say they also knew that Jason Mraz would be coming in by this point.

Off-topic, but I hope Sara does a third/final run and closes the show. I don’t think it will closing up shop anytime soon (despite what people here seem to think) but she’s the only Jenna I haven’t seen yet.

I would think that yes, the Weisslers trusted the brand of their show and hoped it would sell itself (and trusted Betsy as a talent). It's also interesting that they are using her face on all the tour branding.

I was wondering why she was used in the tour poster. Betsy looks so beautiful. I’m seeing the tour next month in Costa Mesa

I've never understood this fad of putting question marks at the end of statements. Maybe I'm just a fuddy duddy.

ohh. when you reply from mobile and put an emoji, i guess the website doesnt translate the emoji, so it just throws in '??' instead.

but to clarify, yes she is my fave. lol
