Which cast albums from the past year do you think will end up being nominated?
I personally think it will be between 1. The Bands Visit 2. Once on this Island 3. My Fair Lady 4. Carousel 5. Mean Girls Maybe pretty woman, depending on if it met the deadline.

Agreed. It is incredible and so very unique in its own right. I happened to be listening to it again today, along with several other shows I attended this past year, and forgot how much I had absolutely loved this show, it’s infectious music and amazing instrumentation, and it’s haunting songs and melodies.
I searched for the official rules and had read them a few years ago. There has to be XX number of entries for a category to be presented with three nominations and then XX number for there to be five nominations. Does anyone know (Broadway Concierge) what those magic numbers are in the current rules?

Per BWW, "As with all GRAMMY categories, if 40 or more eligible albums are submitted, five albums are nominated. Note: 25-39 submissions yield three nominated albums."
Thank you! I knew there was a magic number. Google didn't bring up the BWW page. If I remember correctly a few years ago there was concern that there would not be enough eligible albums to have the category. I think they had the bare minimum that year.
A very solid list. Personally, I have much affection for The Band’s Visit OBCR, but while I had problems with the revivals of both MFL and OOTI, I can acknowledge the cast recordings are great and very good, respectfully. I also really like the recording for Superstar although I wish I still had the pre-released studio version of Gethsemane when Legend nailed that money note (although relistening today I can appreciate the weathered aspect he brings to the live version). Honestly, I didn’t see Carousel and only listened to the OBCR once or twice, but recognize it’s excellence. But honestly, whoever wins I’ll be happy.
It's actually a good list, much better than past years. I wonder if opening up the membership in this category helped bring out more worthy nominees, but these were the big shows of the season anyway. Wish we could have seen representation from newer shows like Hadestown and Everybody's Talking About Jamie, but these are five solid albums.
