personally, i’m not excited. i used to watch a lot of these british youtubers and to be honest? most of them have little to no talent. they were all pretty, and that was it. i don’t think he should have been picked to be one of the last charlies before the show closes

Ouch.Sounds like Cody in Anastasia. Also sounds like when I saw Mark Ballas but I thought his Charlie was alright and added some charm into the role. I totally loved David Cook in the role ..

It’s not the worst performance I’ve ever seen, but why they went to so much trouble to lower the keys for someone who isn’t amazing/famous? I’ll never know.

I saw David (who was ASTOUNDING) and Mark who was also really good! They had noticeably different takes on Charlie which I really enjoyed.

 

I have no idea who this person is, and I feel like they should have gotten someone a lot different in here. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that at least have some sort of star power that would kill for this role.

 

Also, I really wish he could sing in the normal key. Those songs are a lot less exciting if they're in a lower key I'd assume

Saw him yesterday, didn't go for him went because my friend hadn't seen the show and wanted to. I wish we waited for a different Charlie lol. I wouldn't say he was awful but he's too young and like others have said isn't really in the right key. I still enjoyed the show but it was probably the worst out of the 3 times I've seen it. I may try one more time honestly. Have they announced the final Charlie? Also it was a Saturday matinee and there wasn't a huge crowd from what I could see

Keep wondering who will be replacing him since he has exactly 1 month left. I'd love for David Cook to close out the show but he's currently in physical therapy for breaking two metacarpools and part of his wrist before his tour started in October so I don't know how that would work out?? Mark Ballas said on his post when he finsished "goodbye for now " so maybe he's coming back ? He hasn't been on social media much lately

Maynard has been missing a good amount of shows. He was out Tue-Thur this week. But it's probably a blessing to see either John Jeffrey Martin or Corey Mach in the role instead.

I saw a video of Corey Mach singing SOAM somewhere a few weeks ago and he sounded great. I know David Cook's fans loved him when he went on the 3 times he was out. I saw him as Harry all 3 times I saw the show and he was amazing !

John Jeffrey Martin was the only cast member who has come out every single time I've seen the show and he's so gracious with the fans. I've heard good things about his Charlie too .

Maynard seems to be missing a lot of shows. He was out most of last week and has missed a couple shows this week. Probably a bonus for anyone seeing the show and you get one of the Charlie u/s.

Saw it Friday night. I saw it in 2013 with the original cast so this cast had a lot to live up to. Ghee was awesome. Everyone it was in very good voice. However I will say that I didnt feel any chemistry between Maynard and Carrie St. Louis so while her The History of Wrong Guys was great, it felt like it came out of nowhere. Despite that, I was more deeply affected this time probably because last time we were in standing room and I was dealing with severe back issues which meant I was in pain the whole time, Ive been missing my dad more who died in 2013, etc. it has been interesting for me this trip because almost everything Im seeing (Kinky Boots, American Son, The Waverly Gallery, Torch Song) involves parental relationships which speaks to where Im at in my life right now.
