Good, it desperately needs work - and I want it to work. There IS a lot of good there - but there's also a lot of unnecessary NOT good.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Still, with Paulus busy this Spring, the earliest this arrives on Broadway is summer 2019.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Wonder if this would pull a "Dear Evan Hansen" and open at an Off-Broadway non-profit before Broadway? That would probably delay its opening to -- at the earliest -- spring 2020.

I think this would make a lot of sense, especially if they make substantial changes, which I agree are much needed. There's definitely something here, but they're cramming far too much in there. I realize it's not a perfect comparison, but they should take a lesson from American Psycho and use an Off-Broadway run to work things out further.
They just posted a video on Facebook stating that it’s “coming soon” with the entire production team listed. Doesn’t necessarily say to Broadway but it seemed clear.

Could be that this is just the start of a new marketing campaign for a potential off-Broadway or pre-Broadway tryout. I doubt it would mean straight to Broadway.
At first I wondered if it could be the remaining show for 2nd Stage's 18-19 season. But that video makes me think the next step is a commercial production, namely Broadway. The show has a website and social media platforms being run by Broadway advertising agencies, and it would seem silly to spend money on that if the next stop was an Off-Bway/regional theatre.
If the written material of the book is the show's biggest hurdle, the developmental lab in December might be enough to get it Broadway-ready, following the decently-reviewed ART production.
Logan Hart, Who was in the ensamble for the show, Just posted something interesting to his Instagram. Like a “coming soon” kinda official marketing video from Alanis
So if all goes well with the lab, does this still open in the Spring despite Paulus' schedule?

Any possibility this goes into the Kerr instead of Girl From The North Country? There's been talk of Girl going to the Kerr for a while but no announcement.
The lab starts today! As far as I know, the cast is relatively similar. Laurel Harris (u/s MJ) is currently in Wicked (Elphaba Standby) so I don't know if she is going to be a part of this.

I’m curious about this. Do they usually cast understudies/standbys for labs/workshops?

She was in the ensemble and had a few featured scenes.
Hoping this comes into second stage off broadway prior to a broadway run. Fun show but needed work after ART. I loved Elizabeth Stanley but I’m still hoping Menzel ends up with the production.
