Here we go again. Thankfully, it seems that folks down in the Florida Panhandle are taking this menace seriously. Be safe if you find yourself in the storm's path.

Thanks Javero, for your thoughts. I live in Jacksonville and the cone has changed several times. I will be relieved when it breaks up and is nothing. I still have taken the proper precautions just in case. You would not believe the number of people I have talked to in Jacksonville, that did not know a hurricane was even out there.
If it's not the gays, it's the Democrats! But I do think it's amusing how virtually all the storms I am personally responsible for creating causes the most amount of destruction to the red states. If White Conservative Bigot-God were trying to punish Americans for being too liberal, wouldn't He want to destroy the blue states first?

I’m in another part of the state that was spared this go round, fortunately.
At the risk of sounding insensitive, this storm couldn’t have come at a worse time. It’s giving Rick Scott, who’s running for Senate (and currently losing by a couple of points) the opportunity to be a “leader.” I’ve seen Scott all over the place today, and not seen or heard from his opponent, Bill Nelson (the incumbent), once. To borrow one of Trump’s phrases, Nelson has been “low energy” for the last couple of years, but he’s what we have right now.
On the flip side, Ron DeSantis is getting excoriated down here for running negative campaign ads yesterday and today against Andrew Gillum, his opponent in the governors race (which has DeSantis trailing by anywhere from 4-9 points). Gillum, who is also the mayor of Tallahassee, suspended his campaign to work with emergency management. He struck a bipartisan tone today while DeSantis dug in with his negative ads.
