What show from the first 10 years of the 2000s do you think should/will be revived next?

Am I right that the only Broadway show from 2000 or later to be revived on Broadway as of yet is Spring Awakening?

My fingers are crossed that the London production of Caroline, or Change will make it here. I could also really get behind a LaChiusa Wild Party revival.

The Color Purple was revived in the same season as Spring Awakening. The original production of TCP opened in 2004. I agree that Urinetown is overdue for a revival.

Working on Urinetown currently...its amazing how very current it still is.

The Full Monty or Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, so Yazbek can boast three shows on Broadway at one time.

The Full Monty, definitely.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, somewhat less definitely.

Duh. Of course, The Color Purple. I thought I was missing something. In terms of plays, I’d love to see Topdog/Underdog, Take Me Out, and The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia come back, not even necessarily to Broadway—the Signature could do the first or last given their association with Park and Albee.

I Was always surprised that The Full Monty was not a huger hit.  I assumed that it got lost in the juggernaut that was The Producers (which was to me one of THE most entertaining shows ever...with Nathan Lane.  I would like to see it revived, but suspect that it willed a star in the lead role, based on the first run underperforming.  I also agree with those who vote for Urinetown.  As to Spelling Bee, I hated it, so I could care less...would just be a show I would miss.

I wonder if Hairspray would be premature, given the recent TV show, which was pretty soon after the movie with Travolta et al.

It's been said on other threads, but I think IN THE HEIGHTS will be revived in a few years, not long after the film version comes out. People will want to see the "other" Lin-Manuel show on stage, and the producer Jeffrey Seller has said in interviews that he regrets that the original hadn't run longer if it hadn't been labelled as a hip hop musical.

Next to Normal. I’m still bummed I’ve never seen it. The only chance to see it was my first trip to NYC in September 2010 (for work). On that trip, I saw American Idiot (would love to see a revival of it eventually too, but maybe an off-Broadway or Broadway immersive production ala Sweeney Todd or OOTI) and Billy Eliot. If I could go back In time, I’d choose N2N over Billy Eliot (or managed a third show into my trip) although I don’t have any regrets about what I saw on that first trip. By the next time I returned to NYC again for work in January 2011, N2N had just closed.

As long as it’s not Gaga, I’m all in. But if Gaga stars in all the shows she’s been Dreamcast in (Funny Girl, Evita, Elphaba in the Wicked movie) lately she’ll be too busy for N2N.  Lol

Was trying to think of an up-and-coming diva who is a powerhouse vocalist, but also an incredible actress. She'll no doubt be great in The Cher Show, but I'd love to see her headline something that really showcases her talents. But her in Funny Girl would be incredible as well. Dear Roundabout....
