MAME Costume

Hey guys,

I’m going to a costume party next week and the theme is “Murder She Wrote”/Angels Lansbury.

I was wondering if you guys know how I should go about crafting a MAME costume. I have a dress already, but the suggestions online are all wildly different.

How about just making sure you have an appropriate period hair style and accessorizing your dress with a bugle?

I can't think of "Mame" or the titular character without hearing the extraordinarily filthy "backstage version" of the title song that the cast would sing when the director was out of earshot on breaks... do people still do that? Or was that just our high school?
