My friend joined me last weekend in the city and chose Kinky Boots for her first Broadway show and she was so taken with it that she wants to come back for the final performance. However, the final performance (4/7) is not showing up on Ticketmaster. Does that mean it has sold out already? I told her Id check for her. Thanks.

The closing show is likely by invite only.

Curious if anyone has seen Callum this weekend? Trying for lottery everyday this week before Tiki joins.

I have this unshakable urge to head to NYC in mid-March to catch the show before it closes on Broadway. My taste in musicals has been fairly broad, but there’s something about this show I’m unsure about. Can’t put my finger on it.

From those that have seen “Kinky Boots”, what did you think and how did it compare to other shows you’ve seen? Was it slow paced, chaotic, wildly fabulous? Just need some input to help push me over that line.

I didnt see it until there was casting that interested me (Todrick Hall making his Broadway debut) - I brought my partner and he really had no desire to see it...

We left the theater absolutely in love with it, and just went back for a second time on Sunday. Its the only musical that my partner has cared to get the cast recording for, too.

Great music, great script, great performances, from serious to fabulous, etc. I laughed many times and cried a few (I must admit).

There are some characters in it that are purely plot devices but thats the most I can really find to criticize it. Its a fun show with meaning.

Well, it looks like I’m heading back to Broadway mid-March. Yeah!!! Just bought my ticket for the show. Have a list of things to keep me busy during the day (maybe try and catch the 2pm Phantom of the Opera as well) before heading over to the 7pm performance. Now I’m excited. :)

Kinky Boots is a wonderful show. I've seen it three times and loved it each time. One time I was sitting next to a very conservative Mormon couple who was unsure about the subject matter but ended up clapping and singing along and saying what a great "family" show this is. It is really a family show -- very wholesome, sweet, with great tunes and a lot of heart.

if you want FAB see the CHER Show instead of KB or Kiss Me Kate now that's what I'm looking forward to along with Hadestown but that starts previews 3/22 .KB is so over rated!

Wanted to see KINKY BOOTS on Broadway before it’s gone. The three you mentioned I’ve either never heard of or I’m not  particularly interested in. If they’re still around in five years I’ll catch it then, otherwise there are other shows I’m much more intent on seeing like MOULIN ROUGE or BEETLEJUICE. Yes, the latter is probably going to be a hot mess, but I’ll go any way.

See what you want to see but Kiss Me Kate is starring Kelli O'Hara a classic Cole Porter gem.

Moulin Rouge is a BIG Yes we have tix for this summer! Hadestown is one of the hottest most anticipated shows along with Tootise opening this spring...one of those will WIN Best Musical!

Beeteljuice is DOA from what I've been hearing...

dmwnc1959, I’m glad you’re getting back to NYC! I saw Kinky Boots in 2013 and just saw it for the second time this month and I’m so glad I did. I think you’ll love it! I’ll be back in NYC next month and I can barely wait!!! Enjoy!!!

I’m still juggling my July trip between either Chicago or NYC, so if it’s Broadway instead of the Windy City I may try and catch one of your recommendations as the reviews come in and see what I think.

“Starring” is not a word I would use for anyone in the role of Don. He has a few lines (in total maybe, what, 2.5 pages?) and maybe 4 scenes that he is actively featured in.

Fairly excited myself as well. First stop will of course be the Donut Pub. Been drooling over my pictures from the last time I was there. Mmmmmmm, doughnuts.

Hope the weather isn’t horrible so I can check off my list of things to see that I don’t get around to before. Have a full schedule.

^ ^ ^ I’ve vaguely heard of Tiki Barber, the name rang a bell. Had to look him up. Not kidding. I guess, to some extent, I live in my own personal cave here in West Virginia. Laser focused on a few things that are of interest me as I work, eat, sleep, work, and dance through this life. The dancing part is important. :)

Well that was quick. Got my ticket in the mail just now, less than 45hrs after ordering it online. Not sure where they have ticket distribution centers, but this was shipped from Charleston, WV. Which explains why it got here so fast. :)

Will do, for sure. The last reports may have been from one of the four I saw last year during my first ever trips to Broadway: “The Band’s Visit” (where I met Katrina Lenk) and “Hello, Dolly!” with Bernadette Peters in May, then “Hello, Dolly!” with Bette Midler followed by “My Fair Lady” up at the Lincoln Center in August. I’m sure I’ll still be as excited as I was then, because I absolutely LOVE making these trips to Broadway and NYC to see shows and all the sights of the entire area there. :)

Ghee answered my question about this when he did a live Q n A on IG. He said it is by invite only to allow cast and creatives to invite people, but he suspected that closer to the final performance that tickets would be available for purchase by the general public.

Well, usually long running shows or shows of a certain prestige may hold off putting public tickets on sale to give a chance for producers, creatives, and past/present company members to obtain seats for themselves or friends and family first. Then they will likely go on sale closer to the date.
