Guess the Moulin Rogue rumors are true. Congratulations on a wonderful run from a positive, uplifting show!

Well I hit the Kinky train a little too late(Thanks to the incredible David Cook) and I was so .amazed at the show both times I saw it. It has already taught me so many life lessons. I winded up taking my mom who never saw a Broadway show and she related to the story so much too. Hoping to return before it closes!

Wonder who's replacing Ballas for the last five months....

It will have lasted 6 whole years and roughly 2,500 performances. That's a solid run. Hoping it's fans show up for it's final months. I know I'll be seeing it a few more times before it closes.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Well, at least ACL2006 won't be able to complain about it still being open after April, so that's a plus!

I got to see the tour when it came to Dallas a few years back, and believe it or not, J. Harrison Ghee was my Lola (he and the other understudy were tag-teaming while Kyle Taylor Parker was filling in for Billy Porter on Broadway.) This show holds such a special place in my heart, and I'm so glad I got the opportunity to see it!!!

It's truly had an amazing run, and I hope the show closes out with a bang!!!

By the time it closes, it will be the 25th longest-running show in Broadway history, edging out the spot currently held by The Producers. Nothing to scoff at in the slightest.

Won the lottery and saw it with David Cook and I am so dissappointed that I didn't discover it sooner. I'm going again on Friday to see Mark Ballas and hopefully at least one more time prior to closing

Might not be possible with his schedule, but I’d love fo see Billy Porter close out the show.

Does anyone know when tickets are likely to go on sale for the closing night? I'd like to see the last performance

I keep wondering who will be playing Charlie post Mark Ballas since it's a pretty big gap.....

...yeah, that's true, but when I brought up this very topic in that other thread (it's on the front page of the board, as a matter of fact; I'm assuming you bumped it?), I was woefully shot down by a few posters, even though I had a clear argument in place that eventually led to useless attacks on both sides!

Anyway, the fact that this show by the time of closing will have not only played over 2500 performances, but also had the added bonus of having a six year (!) run to boot as well makes me so happy! I loved Matilda as much as the next person (and it probably was both the better show and definitely the more clever of the two in every regard), but this show is unbelievably special to me, and I do not care what anyone else says; this is an "open" message board, right?

As I forgot to say before, I saw Matilda in 2014 during it's second year. I thought Kinky totally deserved the Tony after seeing both shows.......

And I wonder if people will boycott Moulin Rouge like they boycotted Carousel when Great Comet closed....

I don't complain about the show, just the numbers don't lie. I've seen the show multiple times and will definitely see it again at least twice before it closes. It's one of my current favorite Broadway shows, but it's time to pack it in.

Per Jordan on FB:

On April 7, we will say farewell to our dear KINKY BOOTS which will by then be the 25th longest-running Broadway show in history. 6 years on Broadway, 9 international companies, 6 million hearts and minds opened. Here we are at the beginning - opening night on Broadway. Come join us one last time before closing night. You really do change the world when you change your mind!

Moulin Rouge next?

Umm, many questions: when did that happen? If it did happen, why did it happen? Who spearheaded it? Was it the Twitter stans? Is the Imperial some safe space or something?

And come on, now. People are probably going to be MORE excited that Moulin Rouge is coming to Broadway than a lackluster Carousel revival that should have been great...

Are the rumors of Moulin Rouge that it'll open in the summer? Otherwise I'm surprised Kinky Boots would wait until April to close. Would have been nice to have another vacancy for this coming Spring season.

I recall some users on here and some twitter people being angry since they were thinking it was going to close just to bring in Carousel since it was announced right after Comet's closing was announced....

Probably one of my favorite shows ever. I live this show with all my heart and while being sad about it's closing I'm looking forward to the future of the show. Let's pray some decent regional productions happen

Honestly, I have a feeling people on these boards were more upset about Hello,Dolly! closing and To Kill a Mockingbird (another Rudin production) going in immediately after.

And if we're talking about that Carousel revival, the Imperial was the least of its problems (or so I heard; I don't know, it was pretty polarizing from what I read on here!)

This is the exact question I came looking for an answer for. Guess I'll have to continue stalking the website/social media accounts for when they open up.

trust me i would have been the first one to boycott anything taking great comets place, but as soon as i heard it was carousel i knew i couldnt resist. there was enough wonderful broadway talent that no one should have resisted. so ive visited the imperial two times a piece.

side note, i was sad to see the great comet dumpling shop on stanton st has been replaced with tacos. it feels like another personal blow. i walked up to the door, let the cook see my devastation, and walked away.

The thought of people boycotting a show just because one before it closed is stupefying. And the people doing it are just plain ol' stupid.
