Have often been able to do 3 show days by squeezing a 5pm in between 2pm & 8pm shows on a Saturday. Some good, some terrible. Have looked thru off-Broadway listings and didn't see ANY current shows (going mid-Oct) with 5pm starts. Am I missing anything?
I don’t think so. I’d love a 5 pm show. That way I can get two shows in on a Saturday instead of having to spend more money on trains over multiple weekends.
You might be able to make it happen if you are willing to do late night off-Broadway immersive show like Sleep No More or Then She Fell after an evening show then late middle of night train home. That would work best with matinee, 8:00 p.m. Broadway Saturday show then midnight Sleep No More. I think Then She Fell stops taking entries at 1030.
If you could do Sunday, you could do a matinee then Aladdin (or The Lion King) at 630 then Then She Fell at 1030. I did this almost theee years ago. Be warned though that Then She Fell is in Brooklyn.
The Imbible: A Spirited History of Drinking playing at the New World Stages has a 5 p.m. Saturday show. It's a history of drinking told with a comedic flair. I did it a few Saturdays ago and it was a lot of fun. You also get 3 free drinks which makes for a nice middle show on a 3 show day. You're out by 6:45.
Then She Fell would have been perfect for a late night show... pretty much sold out the weekend we're there (Sunday is completely sold out, and the late show on Fri only seems to have a single premium ticket left.)

I use it as a running joke when I bring friends into town who think two shows in a day is a lot, so I always offer to add Naked Boys Singing in between...
Rags Parkland, a new musical at Ars Nova (birthplace of Great Comet, KPOP, etc) is superb and I'm so disappointed I didn't see this thread sooner. They have 5pm Saturday shows.
Trying to add some extra shows to the six we already have booked for Thurs to Sun. Any later (10pm?) shows aside from Sleep No More and Then She Fell? Enjoyed them both... OR perhaps a 5 or 6pm Saturday show? (That isn't Naked Boys Singing or Imbible; saw 'em) Have looked through the listings and not found anything yet. Thx!
Seeing Betrayal on Thurs, Scotland PA on Fri, Oklahoma on Sat mat., either Slave Play or Sound Inside on Sat eve (bailing on our Lightning Thief tix; gonna Stubhub one of those), Moulin Rouge on Sun mat., and Jagged Little Pill on Sun eve. Have seen most other shows playing at traditional times.
Almost two years since my last NYC trip (like many), and almost two years since last posing this question.
Seeing Girl/North Country on Fri PM, Trevor on Sat afternoon, Woman in Black (McKittrick) on Sat eve, Kimberly Akimbo (maybe) on Sunday afternoon, and The Visitor on Sun eve. Can’t find any late night shows while we’re there (nothing on schedule yet for 54 Below or Joe’s Pub). Suggestions for after-traditional show times? Also, any “between show” suggestions? Will be there Nov 5-8. (There again in early Dec, but will have our 3rd grader with us.)
