I swear they better have Adam Lambert and Eden Epinosa for "As Long As You're Mine".. They were just hanging out together in Las Vegas between Queen residency dates. If he's even interested, he may not be. Or Shoshana, I'm not picky!
There’s no code - you have to purchase via Broadway direct through a specific link. The instructions say we’ll receive an invitation to the taping on 10/11 and have to rsvp by 10/12 to gain admission.
Do you think you could send me the link as well, please? I'll be visiting NYC at exactly the week of the taping, been checking everywhere to see if I could find tickets, with no luck. Has this link been sent out through a newsletter?
I just noticed there is an auction on Audience Rewards for this. There are three packages.
"Celebrate WICKED's 15th Anniversary in the most Ozmopolitan way! Be a part of the exclusive audience at the taping of NBC's "A Very WICKED Halloween: Celebrating 15 Years on Broadway" on Tuesday October 16th, featuring performances by Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, Ariana Grande, Pentatonix, and more. The following evening, you will take in the magic of WICKED on Broadway with two Orchestra tickets to the 7pm show, capped off by a thrillifying backstage tour at the Gershwin Theatre!"
If anyone is willing to share the link with me for this, I'd be forever grateful. that's my birthday week and i'm a little desperate to be able to attend. thanks so much!
Can we asume that Grande will be playing Elphaba in the movie version??
Why would anyone assume that? Why would anyone even WANT to assume that? Her participation in Hairspray was like a boneheaded experiment that went horribly wrong. She can't act, she can only sing in one overly-poppy stylized manner, and she has absolutely no sense of character, setting or comedic skill. If you absolutely MUST require a young, trendy pop star and the idea of acting is to be considered laughably irrelevant to the project, Taylor Swift would make a better Elphaba...and she would be TERRIBLE. Hell, why not get Grace VanderWaal? She's newer and younger than Grande, but with even less talent! Which do we prefer: Scoopy Idol Xerox-pop or whiny vocal fry? I can't decide which is better for Elphaba...oh wait, it doesn't matter! They wouldn't have to actually play a character. They just need to say lines out loud, wear costumes, and lip-sync to their new pop album featuring songs from Wicked. Phew!
GAWD.
"What can you expect from a bunch of seitan worshippers?" - Reginald Tresilian
Perfectly stated, Mister Matt. Grande’s participation in HAIRSPRAY: Live! looked great on paper for NBC/Universal in every way you looked at it but she colossally failed miserably and what could have been a great opportunity for her to shine only showcased everything you stated. Even after months of rehearsals she had no grasp of the Penny Pingleton character. God only knows how bad she must have day at the start of rehearsals and what we saw was tons of training by many. I feel Lady Gaga will take on Elphaba for the WICKED film and her involvement will bring on board incredible big names to the film.
