I don't usually put too much stock in what Tommy says, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is true. It's the ultimate cult film, beloved by many people in the entertainment industry. With the right creative team, I think it could work, although a musical adaptation of THE DISASTER ARTIST would probably make more sense. In any event, I'm here for it! Let's not forget, they made an opera out of THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW.
If many of you follow doubledreviews on youtube, he was writing a musical adaption of the room and even met tommy. So mabye his adaption was pretty good?

This is a terrible idea to adapt a bad movie into what will likely be a horrid musical........... and I have never wanted something to actually happen this badly in my whole life! Dear gosh, can we start talking about dream casting this now?
At FRINGE orlando this year, a group actually debuted a full 90 minute ROOMsical. It was cute, needed work, but being extremely self-aware made it fun.

I just saw double d reviews has posted 2 songs from his show, and I've got to say, he does a good job combining camp and a little more substance rather than flat out camp and mass hysteria like in that demo.
I think he also wrote it as a story where Tommy tries to bring a musical adaptation to Broadway, as he copes with failure from the film.
I remember hearing the opening number a while ago and was honestly pretty impressed:
Please excuse some cross promotion, but after getting Patron's Pick in Orlando, we're heading up to Chicago for their Musical Theatre Festival this Winter. So, before Tommy Wiseau and his team of lawyers swoop down on us, we'd love to get your support:
