So...I’ve been lurking these boards for a few months, but am now hoping for some specific info that I haven’t been able to find while combing through old posts.

I *really* want to go see Hamilton for the Halloween matinee and have been stalking the Ticketmaster app. I just saw a pair for $342ea in the orchestra. Very end of row N. Seems like a pretty good deal, because everything around it is closer to $500ea. My question is, is there something wrong with these seats? Why are they over $100+ cheaper than the others that are only like a row away?

Any insight would be great. Thanks!

I haven't seen the show in NYC, but maybe this will help: https://aviewfrommyseat.com/venue/Richard+Rodgers+Theatre/

That same performance has right orchestra row T seats 16 and 18 for the same price.  I'd rather be a few rows further back than all the way to the side.

Nothing wrong with them. Just an algorithm where the first two seats on the aisle cost X, next six seats or whatever cost Y, and the rest go for Z. All of which can go up or down based on demand.

I don't know if this holds for Oct, but I know September is a slow month and I would watch and see how low the prices would go closer to the start of the show. I ended up scooping up cheap tickets ($168 for 2 total) via tickpick (orch x obstructions~you only miss some stuff, but I sat there when I saw it for first time and it was fine). I checked Stubhub closer to two to see which seats hadn't sold and I was able to sit in them after intermission. I asked the usher before hand and he said that was fine. He was even nice enough to help other people.

Ok, great to know! Thank you all for the good information. I think I might hold out a bit longer before biting the bullet.

Personally, I would go with the seats in N. I sat in Row P almost all the way over on the side, and I was astounded by how good the view was. Taptic intermission  I chatted with the two women who were sitting on the end of the row, and they said their view was very good also. The problem with T is that the rake in the orchestra starts to level off, and if you happen to get someone tall in front of you, your view will suffer.

I’ve been in N 26 and 28 on the side aisle/wall and it was fine. Not at all obstructed like it would be closer up.

Yeah, I’ve read on other posts that it might be best to stay in front of row R due to the rake. Glad to hear being all the way over is not an issue!

Don't waste your time.  Hamilton isn't actually worth it.

I had obstructed orchestra seats when I saw it (can't exactly recall where) but I only missed a very small bit where Washington is speaking to Hamilton during Non-Stop at the end of act 1. The person at the box office was very helpful and knew specifically what I would be unable to see from my seat, I would recommend maybe calling the box office just to ask.

Also, Snakeskin, please take your negativity somewhere else. If it was intended as a joke it was a bad one.

There is no guarantee that the longer you wait, the cheaper they'll get... the cheaper tickets may all just sell in advance.

The seats up front all the way to the side say partial view, but this is not listed that way. I think based on the previous helpful responses they sound like they'll be great seats...haven't sat there myself though...

Stub Hub and Ticketmaster tickets will be available, at roughly the same price as today, up until the week of/ day of the performance. The Richard Rogers theater is actually small (1300-ish seats), so there really isn’t a bad seat...especially in the Orchestra...even on the far sides.

I was very fortunate on a Valentines Day, a sorta holiday like Halloween. We were walking past the theater and I was telling my boyfriend how I previously got tickets in the cancellation line. The cop that watches that block herd our conversation and said...now is the time to see the show if your interested...cancellation line is short. So we stood in line with two couples ahead of us and...got 2 tickets, row F, Center Orchestra, on the aisle for $219 each.

There is so much happening in NY on Halloween...you just might get lucky too.
