She was the bartender the other night on Andy Ciohens show. And I think they said she will be at 54 below. I always thought she hindered her career by sticking to stuff written by her husband . When they divorced I thought for sure her Star would rise .

I think she decided to focus on being a mother. She also, I believe, has said, she prefers recording and doing concerts, but never really had acting aspirations and finds it quite hard as a business.

Well that makes sense. I forgot she was a mom. It sounds then that she is very successful and exactly where she wants to be.

She did 54 Below last night and has a show tonight. Looks like a new cd is out with a DVD featuring her life offstage. The DVD is 3 hours long.

I'm going on Friday, the last of the three. All shows sold out. Top ticket $180. Guess she's doing pretty well.

She does not care for the eight shows a week schedule- She has stated that it is too damaging to the vocal instrument.

She ain't wrong doh...at least someone with vocal smarts is questioning the 8 show a week model. Granted, I still say no one can sing the pop aspects of a Wildhorn score the way she can. She's nearing 60 and STILL slays.

She does 54 Below quite often and I've always wanted to go to one, but WOOF those prices...I know she's LINDA EDER, but my poor self can'r afford that.

Broadway is in such a rut but still resists change. Eight shows a week with two doubleheaders sends great stars like Audra McDonald and Kristin Chenoweth to undistinguished TV shows instead of the stage. Chenoweth was heroic playing the difficult Lilly Garland role in On The Twentieth Century. She liked to say that she “lived like a nun” during the run. But she hasn’t been back on stage.

In a recent interview Idina Mendel was asked about the difference between doing a straight play and a musical. Doing the play was so much easier. On awakening each morning she did not have to do a voice check on herself to see how hard her day was going to be.

Find new sources of revenue through advertising and corporate sponsorships and making the shows available to the public through pay per view after they have closed.

Love Linda Eder!  Yes, her #1 priority is being a mom.  She continues to tour and does concerts all over the country.  I just saw her in May again at 54 Below and she was sublime - as always.

Exactly, Philly - she prefers to focus on singing rather than returning to the grind of the Broadway stage.

Her new cd is fantastic!  I'll have to check my list, but I think I'm up to 52 times that I've seen her in concert over the years.

I saw her at 54 Below last night and thought she was fantastic! Totally blows my mind that she can still sing the way she can... maybe a 5% drop in quality, tops, from her peak glory days.* What a talent.

She joked in her set about bartending at WWH Live - she said that she had no idea how to mix a drink, but it would be fun, so why not? She seemed pretty chill about just enjoying life and singing these days - I just don't think she cares anymore about busting herself for 8 shows a week.

*Edit that I mean this as the best possible compliment, not a criticism at all. I don't know many people who can sing the kind of music she sings over a period of decades with that level of vocal stamina.

Her concerts at 54Below always sell out at top prices. I went to one and I felt it was worth every penny I paid for. She always has an informal meet & greet after the show which was quite civil and really really nice of her!

By the way, she's quite tall and oh so beautiful!

I wish I got to see Jekyll & Hyde back in the 90s.

I check her website about once a month to see if she's performing in the LA area. She hasn't in about 4 years. It's driving me crazy, I want to see her.

If anyone in the NYC/NJ area, she’ll actually be at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ (about 45 mins to an hour outside NYC by train or car) next Thursday night (9/20).

There are a ton of tickets still left and some as low as $25

Eder sells out everywhere she performs.  That and what I think was probably a nice divorce settlement, allow her to take good care of her voice and pick & choose where she sings.

As others have already said, she still sings the songs, 25+ years later, with the same gusto.  Hits all the notes.  Holds all the notes.  It's still thrilling.  And no one has better mic technique.

Her 54 Below shows are great, but it's still wonderful to hear her with a full symphony.  I've seen her at Jones Hall in Houston multiple times with 75+ pieces behind her.  There's nothing quite like it.

No she doesn’t .  The big halls are mostly empty and heavily discounted .  Just because you love something doesn’t mean you should make up <<edited by BWW staff>>

Emo-Geek, Linda performed in Irvine, CA in February and a few weeks later in Palm Springs.  The last few So Cal appearances have been in Palm Springs.  Did you see those concerts?

Either somehow I missed the Irvine show, or had a prior commitment. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it over to Palm Springs for any of those shows. I believe her last LA concert was her appearance at the Ford?

I luckily got to see her in the pre-Broadway production in Denver. While they were preparing to open on Broadway she came back and did a free "thank you" concert for Denver audiences. I think it was the first time she performed Don Quixote live.

Yes, her last concert in LA was at The Ford Ampitheatre in 2014.  Too bad you missed the Irvine and PS concerts.

I worked in a theater in NJ where she performs once a year. She's a nightmare to work with. We called her Moody Eder, and no she doesn't not sell out where she performs. Trust me in front of her fans she's sweet.... backstage, she's a nightmare.

I always have felt that Eders has a really good voice but lacks any real acting chops. She also movies awkwardly on stage.

When you worked with Linda, what did you do?  Were you part of her band, when she toured?

She’s openly admitted numerous times she’s not an actress and struggled with it. I’m sure it’s a big part of why she doesn’t do it anymore. She’s got a hell of an instrument, but she definitely cannot act.
