Grand opening tonight Sept 11 2018 the newly remodeled SHN Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco. Closed for over a year for a complete make over.. New rugs,ac,stage lighting, main red curtain, reupholstered seats,bathrooms, LED marquee and new front re painting of the tall twin blade signs in a Red/Orange & White lettering color. The neon was not repaired or replaced. Here are photos taken today 9/11/2018 of the new marquee lit up for the for the first time and loading in of the sets and equipment for the Nederlander production of 'On You Feet'.Thank God SHN has finally fixed up the former RKO Golden Gate Cinerama Theatre . The old brown paint out front was looking pretty bad along with the inside. The tall old neon blade signs are still being painted and the tarp won't come down till Oct. Thanks again to SHN for taking on this great former movie palace with a new look for a new generation to enjoy.
