I was iffy about buying tickets to this.  I have seen Cher many times and unfortunately her concert setlists don't differ too much for her tours. (Just once, I would love to hear Save Up All Your Tears)  However, I just found out Chic is opening for her.  Now I will have to buy tickets.  Anyone else going?  I'm kind of more excited for Chic.

I will never be over Cher!

Chic I can take or leave. I guess you haven't seen them live much? They just do all the hits too, great as they are...I love all the Nile Rodgers produced stuff too, like Like A Virgin, I'm Coming Out etc. - but they just aren't the same without the original vocalists, at least not to me.

A very good opening act that will get you moving for sure, but more exciting than Cher? No way!

Is there a presage code for this?

Jordan, Citi Cards have a presale starting tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10 am. (At least for my show, which is one of the first stops).  I haven't done a Citi Card presale in years, but I think it is the first six digits of your card.  I kind of don't like presales, because it has been my experience they do not release all tickets.  Depending on price and location, of presale, I may wait for general.

Ah. I don’t have a Citi card so I guess I’ll have to wait for general sale. She’s coming to Brooklyn toward the end of the tour which usually I don’t like, but since Cher doesn’t usually sing live I don’t have to worry about her voice being shot.

So true. (about singing live).  Here come the naysayers.  Also towards the end of tours,  some seem like they are bored.

I just saw some videos of her Australian shows, I can't believe she's still riding around on that elephant dressed in Indian garb...she's been doing that since 2002!

When I purchased my ticket for this tour I had the chance of a third row floor seat.  I had never been that close for a Cher concert.  The ticket with fees would have been $270.  I talked myself out of it and settled for a $105 ticket.  Since then I saw the setlist for this tour.  It's the same songs again with the exception of a couple of the Abba covers and one other song.  I am so glad that I did not spend all that money.

Anybody see any recent shows?  My show is Wednesday.  I read that she cut Gypsy Tramps & Thieves,  Dark Lady and Half Breed from this leg of her tour.  It doesn't sound like much, although I love two of those songs.  When you watch on youtube an earlier concert of the tour, this segment does include two costume changes and some great backup from her dancers.  So to me, it is alot, when you aren't going to replace those songs with something else.

You were so right about Chic.  Just not the same without Norma Jean.  As an opening act, they were okay.  I would have grown tired of them as a headliner.  Unfortunately, you were incorrect about Cher.  This is her worst tour ever.  After two songs she rambled an over rehearsed bit for over ten minutes.  Very obvious lip synching.  I already mentioned she has cut Half Breed, Gypsys and Dark Lady.  The concert still dragged,  and there is alot of filler.  Very disappointing.

Yes, its sad she seems to be trotting out the same show she is doing in Vegas. I was planning to see her in Vegas when she announced the residency at The Park. However, it was clear she was doing the Dressed To Kill Tour which I already saw. This tour seems to be very tired. I think she flies over the audience again. She has such a great catalog Id hoped she pull some songs out of the vault. No such luck.

Betty, She doesn't fly on this tour.  She's barely on stage for an hour.  The rest is videos and the dancers.  One blog I read went in depth of costumes and effects that were already used on other tours.  I didn't notice that .  However, I kind of had good seats and yet I felt the stage was really far away.  There are screens, but you never get a closeup or even a closer view of Cher.  The people around me thought it was because of her age.  I doubted that.  The cynic in me knew it was probably because of the lipsyching.  It was the same last year with Mariah Carey.  She had zero screens, yet her personality on stage won me over.  Not so, this time, with Cher.

Artman, thanks for the update. I felt like the D2K Tour was fantastic. She could have gone out on top. She ended that tour early due to illness, so it made sense to open it in Vegas. This tour seems like a cash grab. Thats too bad. Im surprised to hear she is lipsynching. I never thought she had. That might explain no close-ups. Her make up is flawless and she had close-ups on previous tours.
