I started a thread a when the film first came out...but not too many had seen it. I LOVED it. Even with a little of the hit us over the head messaging. And that ENDING. Killed me.
I've tried to get my very white and priveledged students to go and see it...those that have have loved it. I've always really liked Spike Lee's work, but this just seems to have gads more heart.
I loved, loved, loved it. It was brilliant, poignant, timely, and needed.
This is probably one of Spike Lee's best films of his career, everything from the direction, writing, acting was spot on and hit their marks perfectly. I hope this gets more attention at the Oscars than really good, but incredibly over-hyped Black Panther.
