I am so excited for this since I go to the beach club where The Flamingo Kid was filmed.

Are there plans to bring this to NYC?

Also really excited to hear about this. Especially with an incoming season that is so so full of jukebox musicals, it’d be nice to see this run on Broadway for a little bit. Honestly I just want some more shows with original music! This past season has been pretty good to us.

Realistically speaking, does anyone see this doing better on Broadway or Off-Broadway should it transfer?

I heard earlier this year that the plan was to get to Broadway next year. Looking forward to seeing it in CT.

I can’t wait to see this in a couple weeks. If it does transfer (with this cast), it’ll be the first new musical Marc Kudisch has done on broadway in 10 years and that’s a damn crime.

I'll be there on Saturday night and really looking forward to it (even if that means I have to spend the night in Hartofrd!)

I just watched the move last weekend and absolutely loved it (Wow young Jessica Walter!). I want to go to the beach club where it was filmed too!

Looking forward to seeing it on the 18th! I hear it’s affectionately referred to as “Mrs Maisel at the Beach” and that’s a fun way of looking at it ! The set designs posted look swell

Folks who have been to Hartford Stage, is it worth paying extra to sit in the middle vs. sides?

Middle is definitely preferred. If you’ve been to Lincoln Center Theater, it’s akin to that (but smaller in capacity). Stage is thrust with seating on three sides, and most shows (especially musicals) are staged and choreographed primarily to the center.

So - I’d say spring for the center if you can get them. Most of the new musicals I’ve seen there (Gentleman’s Guide and Anastasia) are very well done, as are the revivals (recently, Kiss Me Kate). Enjoy!

Has anyone seen it yet? So excited to hear about the show.

The Hartford Stage Instragram posted this, and if that isn't confirmation of an eventual Broadway transfer then I don't know what is. Given how many jukebox musicals with non-original scores are currently in the pipeline, I can see this becoming very big very fast.

Seeing this Thursday night before I head to NYC. Very much looking forward to it and hearing other people’s thoughts.

Lesli Margherita, Kathy Voytko, Adam Heller and Marc Kudisch?  Sign me up!

Just what Broadway needs, another movie onstage.

Broadway needs hits, regardless the source material.  Be it a forgotten sleeper like Flamingo Kid or a familiar blockbuster like Moulin Rouge, audiences will determine what they want to see.  Be More Chill certainly doesn't seem to be it.

Maybe I'm being too picky, but am I the only one that has a problem buying the kid is a teen? Idk he seems like he's in his 20s clearly, of course his acting may make it not matter but from first glance idk.

Well, that was not so hot.  Every musical like this looks the same, sounds the same, has the same light bumps, the choreography, well, whatever that was, looks the same - it sounds like subpar David Yazbeck.

I saw this on Saturday. It feels very out of date.

I’m sad this is Darko’s last show at Hartford Stage.

I saw it last week and actually enjoyed it quite a bit. A step up from A Bronx Tale - the other pastiche filled, coming-of-age, father/son/family drama, with a young romance. Nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary - but it's very likable!

Is Kudisch in this a lot?

Also, what is the running time?
