That’s what I was thinking! I figured it was either promotional or for archives. I remember seeing another show being filmed for Lincoln Center archives but you can’t view it until after it closed so I was confused as to how people on Instagram would have something like that. Thanks for responding!

ALL plays/musicals professionally film short scenes from their productions to be used for promotional purposes (as clips on talk shows, interviews, their websites, social media, etc). These are technically called B-Rolls and you can view many of these on YouTube by simply entering the show title and the word: highlights in your search.

That's still the rule. Even PHANTOM, taped back in 1988, is unavailable until the show closes -- if it ever does.
