Yes - I saw that listed. I had thought that was just for the pre-recorded dialogue of individuals posting, tweeting, sharing social media etc. in that specific number. Is it also for the singing as well?

Just wanted to say I found out like a day before I saw Waitress last year that Betsy Wolfe was out and Torns was in. I was initially disappointed, but all doubts were erased by her performance. She (and Jason Mraz, surpringly) was phenomenal."
She was incredible. She received sustained applause for "She Used to be Mine" and a huge ovation at curtain call. I realized after the fact that the show we attended (Sunday night) was her last "fill-in" performance prior to Nicolette Robinson beginning tonight. You could see the great connection she had with the cast as well (who were all uniformly excellent).

I don’t know if the offstage understudies also help out, but I know that a lot of the big group stuff is prerecorded to help out the onstage voices."
^ thanks! Makes sense...
Does the virtual community get paid each week or were they paid once for their work?

I found out when I walked into the theater (but was less concerned, since I already saw Betsy before), so it was just getting another Jenna for me. But yeah, she crushed it... and I went there to see Mraz in the show.

I don't know, but I know they got a certificate or something from the Grammys after it won Best MT Album for their work!
Here's a past thread on this.

From the Broadway Production Contract:
Ensemble Recordings. An Actor engaged to record material which is ensemble in nature (i.e., unrecognizable) for use in the production may do so provided that Actor is originally contracted for the duty or contracted by rider to participate in such recording and further provided that the Actor is compensated upon leaving the production at no less than one week's minimum salary if the recording is used in the production after Actor's termination provided, however, that an Actor who is unjustly terminated, per Rule 69(D), receives not less than either two weeks' contractual salary as a one-time payment or one week's contractual salary for each 26 weeks' use of the recording, at the Producer's option.
Compensation stipulated herein is for use of said recording(s) in the original production only. Actor will be compensated for use of any such recording(s) in any other production at not less than the minimum terms and conditions stated in the appropriate contract.
