Rent 20th anniversary tour |
I saw it January and while I admit that some of the cast were not well-suited to their roles, it still had quite an emotional affect on me. My poor co-worker didn't quite know what to do when I started sobbing when...
Angel died.
Lol. Aaron Alcaeaz was amazing as Angel, however. But he has left the show now as has most of the cast I saw (I believe). Which in most instances, could be a good thing. It wasn’t that the cast was untalented. They just seemed young for their roles, which you sometimes see in non-equity tours. I just happened to be working in the town where it was touring through. I had heard rumblings about the tour beforehand so I went in with my expectations kept low. It also probably helped that we nabbed cheap rush tickets. I would say go, but go in with realistic expectations and try for rush tickets. If you have lost friends to AIDS, the show still delivers an emotional wallop (at least for me).
Here’s an earlier thread...

I saw the tour back on Easter Sunday up in Pittsburgh and quite enjoyed it. My review is Post #30.
