Honestly, I’m very impressed that Davenport wrote a pretty frank and sad blog post about closing the show. I have a lot of respect for the fact that he’s talking about enduring the grim sides of the industry and not pretending like everything is all sunshine and roses. (Even though his “98.2% positive rating” of the show is BS and I’m sure he knows it, too.)
I thought this show was really bad and lowered the bar for Broadway, but that doesn’t change how sad I am for the company and crew. I hope they’re able to find new jobs quickly.

I was also impressed with Ken. I thought the post was going to be a LOT more self-congratulatory and blaming the "mean" reviews for bullying his show, but the post seems genuine.
I'm so f***ing sick of Stan twitter.

If people don’t like the show, they don’t like it. If they don’t want to see it, they don’t see it. Plenty of other shows have been poorly reviewed as well... don’t understand the complaining about the alleged “bullying”"
It’s victim culture at its finest.

I mean, remember the "stans" during the Tonys this year? They were trashing The Band's Visit and the artists involved with it. And directly tagging them or the people who "lost" the Tony. It was a sight to see.

We just may have Head over Heels closing as well around that time!
If BWW, NYT, and the like are bullying it off Broadway, why aren’t the “real fans” and the 99.95% of the public unaware of this website seeing it? Those quick to accuse are often the first to forget that causation does not necessarily correlation and vice versa. Some shows just don’t make.
I hope the cast is able to get back out there soon because their talent is abundant.

And next will be Head Over Heels. So- who'll start the "What's next for the Belasco" thread?
EDIT: It's already there, and I'm just a blind fool.

I know some people might hate me for saying this, but I think the MAGA hat of musicals is Bandstand. Considering how I saw multiple MAGA hats on people in the audience.
