Home ill, I went on my MSN homepage. The Newsweek headline read " DeSantis doesn't think we should monkey up things by electing a black candidate."

I found it hard to believe that anyone would be that stupid so I went to the Fox interview and listened to the whole thing. In the interview, DeSantis mentions that he understands how Andrew Gillun did so well because he is a charismatic and articulate candidate. Later in the interview he says that he doesn't feel we should be "monkeying this up by choosing a candidate with a socialists agenda."

Now it's a few hours later. I'm watching MSNBC and people on the show are being critical of DeSantis using the word "articulate" because it is clearly a word whites use when referring to educated blacks. The Newsweek headline has been replaces by a more honest NYT headline but I turn on  CNN and their lead headline news story is "Ron DeSantis doesn't think we should elect an African-American."

So you tell me, which side is trying to use race in the coming election?

DeSantis has put his foot in his mouth many times before this. I am tired of the dog whistles for the alt Right that have been coming from our elected officials these days!

I'm sure he has. And If he is indeed alt right, more will come out. Using the term he used "monkey up" was just an awful choice of words but the way it was reported, it seems to me, just brings out more hate on both sides. The left sees him as another racist. The right sees this as just another example of "fake news."

If I was a candidate, I doubt I could get through a day in one piece.

Call me when you ever hear the words articulate used to praise a white man, or the word monkey used in any context when talking about a white candidate. ever.
