On today tixs there are $30 tickets to the play that goes wrong. Should I buy tickets to see the show? Is it as good as what people say it is?

Yes; generally yes.

My family of four and a friend and her mother--who don't do Broadway but went because they had a gift card--thought it was utterly hilarious. If you want to see if it's something you might like, I believe some of the groups other shows are on you-tube. Peter Pan Goes wrong was so funny. The bunk bed scene... The flying scene...I could go on and on.

I know I’m in the minority, but I thought it was terrible. I didn’t find it funny at all.

We, and most people around us, were crying from laughing so hard--the entire time--but the gal right next to me did not crack a smile for the whole show. That's why if Peter Pan goes Wrong is still around on-line I suggested the poster check it out to see if their sense of humor matches with this kind of humor.  This was the most fun I'd ever had on Broadway.

Personally, I loved it and hope to be able to go again before it closes. My parents recently went and took some friends, and they all loved it as well.

If you don't mind having some of the jokes spoiled, here is a short version that the London cast performed as part of a variety show. It'll at least give you a sense of the comedy style.

Love love love the show. Especially at $30. It doesn't sell all that well so you may even get upgraded.

Is it as good as people say? Aren't you just asking more "people"?

My son and I hated it, couldn't wait ifor it to be over - but my daughter thought it was hysterical.  For 30 bucks, how bad can it be?

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I thought it was funny, if you're not into slapstick though, the show won't be for you. The people who were next to us didn't laugh at all and left at intermission. It's not for everyone.

I've seen it twice- once with an orchestra partial view via rush and once with a mezz right seat from TDF. The partial view seat was truly partial view, but it was still a lot of fun. The mezz seat was amazing, though. Perfect view of the stage and the sound box, which I saw absolutely none of from my orchestra seat.

If you like slapstick comedy, you'll probably like it. I'd say 85% of the audience laughs the whole time. Make sure to get there early!

I thought it was funny and so did my family, we saw it in London. It all depends on your sense of humor and if you don't like slapstick, it is not for you. I believe it got pretty good critical reviews even from the NY Times. (Brantley)

Wasn’t a huge fan. Laughed lightly a few times but that was it. It’s all slapstick really. I was hoping when I saw it it would dabble in all types of comedy (dark humor, slapstick, sarcasm, etc etc) but it really sticks to only slapstick. If you’re into that though it’s hilarious.

It’s very hard to do slapstick and farce without making it look like a cheap laugh, and you can see the effort that went into the details of making this look like a hot mess and that made me leave in awe, as well as a ton of laughter

Thought it was good good fun at the theater. A "B" for me, and why not? No awards, I'd bet, but all in all it is just good fun. Sometimes that's more than enough. Right eh?

A lover of theater for decades. Teacher by day. Family man by night. See more theater than most, oftentimes a hesitant plus one.

Actually, the show won a Tony Award (Best Scenic Design of a Play). It’s definitely $30 well spent. It’s a thoroughly entertaining time.

Skip it - possibly the worst show I've ever seen.

No. I kept my hopes up for the first 15-20 minutes - (just wanted a fun/silly/laugh-filled time ) - then resigned myself to the fact that it was a bunch of repetitive, highly unfunny yelling & screaming. Left at Intermission. Blech.

I’ll be seeing this in about 29 days up in Pittsburgh as part of its National Tour Launch. I have season tickets, so it’s already paid for. Based on the ‘loved it or hated it reviews’, this will be interesting to say the least.

I don't remember a lot of yelling or screaming--just 'actors' trying to continue a show while not reacting to the chaos going on around them. Humor is subjective though.

I saw it when I was not in the mood to see it. I loved every moment of it. I was in awe of the blocking and stagecraft involved. For prospective theatre-goers, I wouldn't watch the video linked here as it fails to capture what it's like seeing it live.
