Hello Dolly Rush / SRO |
I went to the box office around 2PM last Tuesday and got SRO for $47 for that evening's performance. It really is a great view, and, as jwf300 just said, you only miss maybe 20 seconds.

They still had premium seats in the orchestra and the mezzanine but they offered me SRO if I wasn't willing to pay for those. I went back to the box office half an hour later and they offered me tickets in the second row of the mezzanine (on the right side) for $69 and I took them. Great view, but I did miss a bit of the Harmonia Gardens scene. Hope this helps!"
Did you leave and come back on purpose? Why didn't they give you the mezz seats from the beginning?

I forgot to mention that the first time I asked (besides the SRO tickets) they also offered me tickets in the last row of the balcony for $50 so I left because I wasn't sure if I should take them. When I went back two girls in front of me bought those balcony seats so I was actually surprised they offered me mezz.
Yesterday (8/16) I arrived at 12:45 and had no problem getting standing room! The top of the stage was cut off a bit but otherwise amazing show. You only would miss like 7 seconds when they throw down pillows during the second song. I was offered those ($47) or Front Mezz partial view for $89. Easiest rush/standing room I've ever done!
I was able to get SRO two Wednesday ago for the 8pm show at 6pm...if you're short left side is better for viewing (i'm 5'5). I was surprised it was so easy considering it's during Bette's run. Originally, I thought I would be seeing it with Donna to save $$$.

Wow, that's awesome. I'll definitely try doing this. What would you say I should take if I get the same chance as you: Standing room or front mezz? I see people are getting offered both of those.

From what I've read I would say get standing room! You'll apparently only miss a few seconds (and it's a lot cheaper). I have only seen the show once (I live in Peru!) and the main reason why I chose to buy the mezz tickets was because I had just spent 8 hours on a plane and was extremely tired. I'm sure you'll love it either way.
I can imagine that tomorrow will be very crowded. Has anyone stood in the line this morning or yesterday? How early? Thanks
