Set your DVR - Documentary Now |

That’s kind of the point of Documentary Now- they take a variety of incredibly specific or niche documentaries and parody them down to the very last detail. Yes, it’s a parody show, but everything is incredibly well researched and performed, to the point where it doesn’t even feel like I’m watching something that’s fake. I’m a big fan of the show and most of the cast in this episode, so I think we’re in good hands! Very excited to see this one when it comes out!

I agree with LizzieCurry that it's most likely one wouldn't need to have seen the original(s) to enjoy these mockumentaries. No doubt, if you HAVE seen them, there's probably an additional layer that others would miss, but still find a lot to enjoy - especially with this creative team and cast.
I own all the DVDs of Christopher Guest's mockumentaries (with Waiting For Guffman being my favorite). Even though I'm not a rock music fan, or know very much about the ins and outs of dog shows, I still watch ALL of Guest's movies repeatedly, and have never tired of any of them. ![]()

Added bonus. If the parodies inspire viewers to see the original documentaries, I'm in. I like good documentary films - I think I'm in a minority on that.
I wish I had access to IFC... ![]()
John Adams, if you have Netflix, season one and two are on there.
This is very exciting news. "Gentle & Soft" remains probably the most hilarious thing I've ever seen and Catalina Breeze is still stuck in my head. Mulaney is going to be wonderful in this I just know it.
Their Grey Garadens parody, "Sandy Passage," is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
Loved their Vice and Spaulding Gray spoofs. Bill Hader never fails to impress me. Looking forward to the new season.

Is there a bigger fan base for bad documentaries? (Sorry, I know what you meant, but your wording was funny to me.)
The older I get, the more I love documentaries.
