lina lamont accent tips?

next week, my theatre company has auditions for singin' in the rain and I'm auditioning for the role of Lina Lamont, but I'm having some trouble with her accent. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to get the accent down?? thanks!!

I would say the key is to differentiate between what is accent and what are her charetistic affectation.

I’d start with the accent, understand the basic rules and then exaggerate it and add the shrieking/nasal quirks.
