I know Stockhard Channing is opening soon in an off-Broadway show.  I have been a fan of hers for many years and was wondering who has met her at the Stage Door.  She is someone I would definitely be interested in meeting and would like to hear about people's past experiences.

When she did Other Desert Cities some years ago at the Booth (with Judith Light), I did the stage door.  She was very nice.  She signed and took pictures.  Rachel Griffiths (who was also in the show and I am a big fan) was not. (at least with me)  She became annoyed with me when I had camera problems due to nerves.  The always sweet Judith Light came to my rescue.

I don't think that she came out during "It's Only a Play", but she was also injured.  You may need to wait and see what the report is when the show opens- with Hugh Dancy also announced to be in the show with her, it may get crowded now.

I saw her ages ago (almost 10 years ago) in Pal Joey and she came out afterwards. She signed my West Wing cast photo (I'm trying to get as many cast members to sign after seeing them in shows, Jimmy Smits was the only one I haven't managed who I have seen perform live) and took a picture. I've already got my ticket to see her in Apologia in October and I'm debating stage dooring. But if I do and I see it before you I'll report back.

I saw Apologia three times in London and she did sign and took pictures with people every time I was there. Stage door wasn't particularly crowded though and I think the autograph hunters stayed away for most part which probably helped.

I've been a fan of Stockard Channing for a while, so Roundabout doing Apologia is very exciting for me; I'm hoping to get tickets early in the run. Good to know she came out in London, and fingers crossed it isn't an insane stage-door experience.
