Not that I have seen Carousel in any form or fashion but isn’t he getting too old to play Billie

Can't imagine this happening anytime soon. Jackman has indeed aged out of the part of Billy and I'm sure this was only floated as a film because (at the time) they had a true A list movie star who could sing that role interested in doing it. Not sure if any of the current 'leading men who kind of sing'  (Ryan Gosling, Chris Pine, Chris Pratt) could really do the role vocal justice.

I do think Lily James would make a ravishing Julie Jordan though.

I can’t see today’s “woke” crowd taking kindly to a new film adaptation of Carousel anyways.

A Jackman-Hathaway duo as Billy and Julie would be friggin' fantastic, though.

After seeing how funny she was in Oceans8, I also think Hathaway could make a really good Carrie.

Years ago Jackman was trying to raise interest in an updated film version of CAROUSEL, but unfortunately his efforts did not bear fruit.  He knows he's aged out of the role, I'm sure, as he hasn't mentioned his hopes for that project in quite a while.  Too bad it never came to pass. He made an impressive Billy Bigelow in a one-night concert at Carnegie Hall in 2002.

Too bad that concert  (with Audra McDonald as Julie) was never recorded.
