Hi

I am hoping for an opinion from people experienced in the college BFA audition process for drama regarding monologue choice.

I am doing Isabel from The Mayor from Zalamea when she is distraught and tells her father her honor and his has been taken from her. (raped)  Is this too heavy? I read someone said don't do anything about rape.

For my contemporary contrasting I am doing Tracey from Seascape with Sharks and Dancer where she tries to push Ben her boyfriend away because she is pregnant. I am also doing a comedic monologue from When it Rains Gasoline about prom night being the most important night of her life.

I have worked so hard to find interesting plays and plays I love. However, there always seems to be something wrong with a monologue and now I hear you shouldnt do anything regarding rape.

Any advice from experienced people in the college BFA audition process is MUCH appreciated.
