For anyone who has seen the show ... what are the very best seats to sit in for Sweeney Todd? The table closest to the pie counter? The more centered middle tables? Facing the left or the right? The forward facing seats a little further back? Thank you for any insight.

IMO: at the counter, on the house left side, as close to the pie counter as possible. You can see everything without doing too much twisting and turning, and you're closest to where the most action happens.

Yes. ^
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I agree. I sat in A-1 and it was a perfect seat. No twisting and turning. Great proximity to the actors. One of the cast members even interacted with me.

I saw Sweeney three times last November. My first seat was A3 I believe, then I sat in D2, and then F4.

My favorite seat was D2 by far, but it was nice to have seen the whole show from a more holistic perspective than being straight immersed. But as the Sweeney at the time was one of my favorite actors (Hugh Panaro) being THAT up close to him was... utterly amazing.

Here's some specifics of what action I caught best in these seats, and what I missed. Under a cut if you've never seen Sweeney or don't want to be spoiled for the immersion.

Table D is the table which Sweeney climbs on top of during Epiphany, so that is a GREAT view there. My seat in A3 was perfect to see Sweeney's entrance at the top of act one. I think the last seat I had was pretty good, but by then I knew the show pretty well and could follow the actors wherever they went. Had some good beggar woman action in that seat.

As far as bad seats, I don't think A3 was bad at all. Nothing I really couldn't see, as the theatre is so small that you could see an actor's expression from across the room. I would say maybe don't sit at the back of any of the tables unless you don't want much interaction. I did have to twist a lot in D2, but I honestly didn't notice it too much and there's ample room since they are tables, after all, and you're not packed in too tightly unless everyone has their purses or bags next to them (you could easily stuff yours under your seat, since they can't be on the tables). D2 was also a great seat to see all the bloody effects and possibly get sprayed! Don't wear nice clothes if you sit in one of those seats in the very center.

It's true that there's not a bad seat at this show, as far as the tables are concerned. There was even interaction with the audience NOT at the tables. This was one of my favorite theatre experiences ever, which was why I went three times in one weekend. I hope you really enjoy it, and I'm sad it's closing!

I was in B-3 and it was a phenomenal seat.

Definitely what JBroadway said - any seats in that area are great.

We sat E-1 and E-2. The Twisting view discount was so worth it and we got SO MUCH interaction. Including 1:1 with Sweeney during epiphany. You want to sit at the tables towards the end closest to the counter.

C1 is great. Very little twisting, front and center. A bonus is you may be right in the action in one scene.

They did have a windowcard when I was there and saw the show in November. It’s really awesome. The cast was very nice to sign it when they come out into the lobby area which is basically the stage door. I have it matted framed in my bedroom.

I was in B3 and thought it was the best non-premium seat. Another thing to avoid too much twisting in sections B &C pick seats 1-6 in sections D&E choose 7-12.

Great production Enjoy
