Although most of the alleged misconduct took place in the 80's and 90's, before they were a couple...poor Julie. I feel bad for her.

My impression of her is she's someone that knows she wouldn't have gotten anywhere near all these opportunities across all these CBS shows if she wasn't married to the boss and not only doesn't it bother her, she's happy about the advantages she's had. I don't necessarily fault her, if anything I fault CBS for not having stronger nepotism policies. But given the incredible benefits to her career, I'm having a tough time mustering much sympathy especially if the comments about her liking to throw her weight around because of who she's married to are true.

I know my share of them.  Several women I know in the DC area are from two rival sororities.  Once they've tossed a few back, members of both groups are quick to brag about the number of Congressmen and CEOs they've bagged as husbands.  The funny thing is that several of them are the daughters of bra-burning feminists.  You'd be hard pressed to find a pair of natural tits among them, no two body parts are the same age, and they'll aloofly step over multiple homeless people en route to a fund raiser to save the Alaskan sea otter.

I personally don't like her, but I don't completely dislike her either. I think, generally speaking, to me she comes off as trying too hard to be liked or funny, and failing at it miserably. Interesting how the shoe's on the other foot now, as she makes a living talking (or gossiping, how ever you like to put it) about other people's lives on the show and now becoming her own 'hot topic' she only makes one statement. I suppose she really isn't in any position to make any further comments, and I'm not saying the public is really entitled to them either.

As far as her husband, I'm not surprised, He looks guilty to me and capable of his accusations. I don't really like him. If I was at all surprised by the men accused of such reprehensible acts, it had to be of Matt Lauer. I could not believe it from him, I was so disappointed at him for his behaviour since he really didn't strike me as a lech being a fan of the Today Show ten years no. And his immediate firing was unbelievable, yet granted by all means.

And the OP's post focuses on and links to an article about Julie Chen's comments which is why it's getting the response it's getting. I'm pretty sure people who just read the title of a thread and don't bother to actually read what the OP says in their comment is how we end up with President Trump. Jesus Christ.

I read it.  And I get how one would want to talk about Chen in the context of the allegations, but...the assumptions made about her and apparently half the sorority sisters in the DC area are kind of wildly gross and misogynistic.

I was thinking that too but couldn't quite connect the dots
