If preview ticket are reduced in price closer to the start of the previews, how do you get the

deal?  Will the reduced pricing be available from Telecharge?

In theory, yes, but discounts during previews are not a given nowawdays. Check theatremania.com for discount codes.

Check BroadwayBox for discount codes, or join Playbill/Telecharge/TheaterMania discount email blast lists.

Ticket prices can be made higher or lower at any time (during previews or after opening), so it takes kind of a special skill to be able to guess what shows will be cheapest during previews, and which shows will lower their prices/add discounts after running for a little while.

I.E., Carousel sold pretty well during previews but has more discounts and cheaper ticket availability now. Book of Mormon discounted during previews and then sales really took off after opening. And then something like Hamilton has never discounted.

would you predict lower pricing on King Kong which starts Previews Oct 5? Right now tickets are $165

I don't expect they will LOWER prices. Your best bet is to just keep looking for discount codes...theatermania is a good source. IF there is a discount, theyll provide you with a code which you use directly at telecharge/ticketmaster.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
